First I must confess that this write up isn’t originally mine but copied from one of my numerous social media gigs… (You know how we tend to be living in the Social Media world these days.) Especially in the bathroom, doing the big one… lol!
And as usual, when I see “A MUST SHARE POST” (A highly valuable post that begs the attention of…somebody must hear this) I have no choice but to forward to those who I think appreciate valuable information.
Kindly note that I took the liberty to edit the write up to suit the interest of my audience.
This post is basically meant to save someone’s life! So take it seriously.
PLEASE FIND A WAY TO MAKE YOUR BATHROOMS LESS SLIPPERY.
The most important way of using the bathroom these days is to find a way of making the bathroom accident-free! No thanks to modern house designs that are filled with all manner of tiles on the wall, on the floor, and even sink boards. This is a very dangerous styling concept especially if the wrong types of tiles are used; or the proper components are not installed in the bathroom to limit the risk of accidents. Hence we are all expected to put the following in place;
- INSTALL HANDLES / HAND BARS
- RAILS,
- ROUGH TILES,
- POSSIBLY SIT DOWN ON PLASTIC CHAIRS. (for the elderly, please get a plastic seat for the bathroom for extra support)
- WEAR SLIPPERS TO THE BATHROOM
The story to learn from:
Chief Adebayo Alao Akala came from Abuja after he attended Mrs Mulikat Adeola Daughter’s wedding in Abuja. He woke up the morning after he returned at around 4.30 am to call his Housemaid whom he instructed to put on the generator and the Air-condition in the sitting room. He further ordered the man to put on the heater as he will be having his bath. He went into the bathroom, fell and became unconscious.
While this was unknown to the housemaid, his political friends and associates who regularly trooped in/ gathered around 7.30 am at his house were worried that their principal was yet to greet them as it was his usual custom. This gingered their curiosity and went inside to see what might have happened.
Alas, they found his body on the floor and he was conveyed by an ambulance, said to belong to LAUTECH hospital, in the presence of his personal PHYSICIAN.
It was at the hospital that he was certified DEAD!
It is possible to attribute the fall in the bathroom to many causes, but how do we prevent them entirely?
We earlier suggested how to possibly set up the bathroom with handle, rail, rough tiles and even a chair. Most of the elderly ones or persons who are sick may not have the stamina always to work to and from the bathroom. More so, a slippery floor has no pity.
Lesson No. 1:
Equip your bathroom well to prevent falls in the bathroom. Make it easy for the elderly or sick person to use the bathroom.
The continuing part would talk about other correct processes in the bathroom. Please stay tuned.
Have a great day!
Speechless!
